One of the many amazing draws for people to Costa Rica is that there are activities for almost every age and interest. Thrill seekers can zip line across the tree tops and take adventure ATV tours, while the more reserved can explore in the cloud forest and tour the many ecological reserves.

Diamante Eco Adventure Park

Sunset Sailing Cruise - Panache in Potrero, Serendipity in Flamingo and Lazy Lizzard in Flamingo

Private Boat Tours - A private boat tour is the best way to see islands and hidden beaches in Guanacaste.

​

ATV Tours - Add some adrenaline to your vacation on an ATV tour. Drive through forests and jungle to reach beautiful viewpoints. 

​

Surfing - Some of the best beaches for surfing in Guanacaste are Playa Avellanas (our favourite, ask for Mauricio --> Playa Avellanas surf school), Playa Tamarindo and Playa Grande --> (Frijoles Locos). Approx $55 per person or rent a board for about $20 a day. Or you can also rent SUPs or Kayaks in Tamarindo, or closer to home, at the Costa Rica Sailing Center.

Horseback Riding - One of our family's favourite activities is horseback riding on the beach.

Deep Sea Fishing

Arenal Volcano National Park and La Fortuna - La Fortuna is the town that sits at the base of the Arenal Volcano and Arenal refers to the area around the volcano. Taking a full day trip to Arenal is a great way to pack many costa rica must-do experiences into your vacation. It is one of the best places for adventure activities - canyoning, hotsprings, horseback riding, ziplining and hiking!

Rio Celeste - One of Costa Rica's most magical places is Rio Celeste, a sky blue river in Tenorio Volcano National Park. The bright blue river is stunning and it's hard to believe it's the true colour of the water!

Coffee and Chocolate Tour

Costa Rican Craft Beer Tours - the Costa Rican craft beer scene is flourishing and growing rapidly. Most of the craft beer scene is in San Jose. Carpe Chepe Craft Beer Tour is Costa Rica's first craft beer tour. Walking through San Jose, you can learn about its history and craft beer scene. If staying local is more your plan, breweries BOA and Cerveciera Independiente ofter local craft beer experience in Flamingo and Potrero.
